AES, a Wakefield-based distribution company that exports to 30 countries worldwide, has seen turnover growth following strong results from its US division.
The company mainly deals in the supply and distribution of flexible conduit systems and connector interfaces to protect critical and electrical wiring assemblies. These products are used in a variety of applications, but are found primarily within the automotive industry.
The UK division was established by James Fawkes in 1992 and by 1994, having discovered a niche in the market, he was the country’s first and only distributor for Harnessflex Specialist Conduit Systems.
AES Export was launched in 2014, due to a significant increase in demand from overseas businesses, and in 2016 AES USA Corp was created to capitalise on the heavy industry cable protection market across the US and Americas.
Turnover for the company’s Illinois-based US arm has grown by 50 per cent to $1.5m in 2017/18, up by 32 per cent on the year before. The UK and export arm has reported revenue of £6m.
AES USA is expected to continue its growth and is set outstrip UK and export sales by 2025.
